Katalyst Engineering

The Katalyst Engineering Foundation was established in June 2015. We are an independent non-profit foundation, The mission of Katalyst Engineering is to capture the imagination of elementary school children and build interest in engineering by providing a fully-supported, collaborative and innovative hands-on engineering curriculum designed just for them. The Foundation is part of White Star Foundation Group.

We carry out our mission through the Gotta Get Engineering program that allows showing primary school students engineering and technical professions as an attractive career direction. The program is based on the assumptions of STEAM education and engineering for children. Furthermore, it incorporates spatial modeling and 3D technology into the teaching process.

The Gotta Get Engineering program received two awards in the S3KTOR 2016 competition, that is in the INNOVATIVE S3KTOR category and the Warsaw Citizens' Award given in the course of voting. The financial award we received in the competition was allocated to cover the direct costs of including a new school in the program (Jędrzej Cierniak Primary School No. 114 with inclusion sections in Warsaw).

In 2017, the Foundation commenced fundraising activities to collect funds to cover the direct costs of the participation of new schools in the program (direct costs embrace the cost of a 3D printer, filament, engineering set, students' workbooks, catering and training materials). Thanks to fundraising activities, we managed to collect funds for including 22 new schools in the program.
In the coming years, we intend to support schools continuing the program as well as intensify fundraising activities so that as many students in Poland as possible can take part in the Gotta Get Engineering.
Simultaneously, we are working on creating the modules for grades V-VIII adjusted to the new Core Curriculum.
